MY STORY
If you want to know the whole truth and nothing but the truth, I believe my baking skills grew out of necessity!! Growing up in rural Arkansas in the 60’s, there was not a single bakery within a 60 mile radius of my home, Dermott. Both my mother and grandmother were avid bakers and often baked for family and friends on request – and thus began my love for baking. In our house, ALL cakes were made from scratch. I can remember asking my mother to purchase a Betty Crocker Cake Mix so I could make a box cake, but she would not comply.
For years I baked cakes for family and friends on special occasions. However about 10 years ago a friend suggested that I send out a flyer to let people know that I was in the baking business. Since then I obtained my business licenses through the Secretary of State and the Department of Agriculture – I have a Cottage Food License which allows me to bake from my home. The thing that I enjoy most about baking is making sure that the product tastes like my customer expects it to taste. It’s all about the taste.
